Announcing publication of a new anthology:
        Alameda Island Theme Poems
                2004, 2005 & 2006
 

This first anthology ever to publish poems on the theme of the island city of Alameda contains  poems by over 70  individual  poets from 2004-2006. These poets, now a part of Alameda's literary history,  follow a time line of other writers who wrote poetry and whose lives in some way touched Alameda: Robert Louis Stevenson, Jack London, William Saroyan, Don Blanding, Frank Bette, and more.
 
 The poems in this collection are a Welcome to Alameda, its waterways, wandering-through ways, Alameda Island people, natural wonders, neighborhoods, a sense of place, and the feelings, experiences, and visions of individual poets.
 

Among the noted and previously published poets in the book are:
Ken Peterson, Alameda Island Poets's Vice President,  has been published in the Peace Anthology series which include Farewell to Armaments, Flaunt Peace in the Face of War, and FOR YOU WORLD PEACE IMAGINE.
 
Nanette Bradeley Deetz of Redbird Giving, a Native American/Contemporary Sound Music Group
 
Andrena Zawinski, editor of online poetry magazine, Poetry.com, you can also see her website for poetry news, especially about Poets ForPeace of which she is a co-founder.

Randy Fingland, long known in poetry community for having been one of the coordinators of some of the Bay Area's most outstanding readings and events, including readings at Spazzo's in Oakland, Pegasus Books in Berkeley, the University Art Museum in Berkeley, and others, is published often in Street Sprit, and in Peace anthologies.  
 

Garrett Murphy, author of books and winner of awards, including poetry awards from Peralta College, the Dancing Poetry Festival, and others.
 
Julia Park, a founder of Red Hill Literary Magazine, the Alameda Sun Newspaper, and feature writer for the Oakland Magazine, Alameda Magazine, the Music Scene, the Alameda Sun newspaper, who also has an online poetry magazine..
